Who we are
ChowVote is operated by Tensecond Labs LLC. You can contact us at privacy@tensecondlabs.com.
What we collect
Email address and display name when you create an account
Dietary restrictions and food allergies you choose to enter
Device location (one-time, when you search for restaurants — not stored or tracked)
Restaurants you've voted on and party history
How we use it
To match restaurant suggestions to your group's dietary needs
To show your friends your display name and avatar
We do not sell your data to anyone
Data Retention
Account data is retained until you delete your account. Settled party history is retained indefinitely so you can revisit past picks. Voting records are deleted along with the party 30 days after it ends.
Third-party services
Supabase — stores your account and profile data (supabase.com/privacy)
Google Places API — fetches nearby restaurant data (policies.google.com/privacy)
RevenueCat — processes in-app purchases (revenuecat.com/privacy)
Apple Sign In — if you choose to sign in with your Apple ID, Apple shares your name and email with us. You may opt to hide your email via Apple's Private Relay, in which case we receive a relay address.
Expo (push notification service) — we send notification payloads through Expo's servers. Payloads contain only event metadata (e.g. 'X invited you'), not personal data.
Your health data
Allergy and dietary information is used only to filter restaurants within the app. It is only visible to you and friends you've accepted. It is never shared with advertisers.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account from the Profile tab → Delete Account. This removes all your data including your auth record within 24 hours.
Children
ChowVote is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
