Bearing Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Bearing is a personal wellness companion built by TenSecond Labs. It is designed so that your data stays yours: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party data sharing. We cannot see your data at all.
What Bearing reads
With your permission, Bearing reads the following from Apple Health: heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep, wrist temperature, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, active energy, and workouts. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in the Health app; Bearing keeps working with whatever you allow. Bearing also stores what you give it directly: daily check-in scores, optional tags and notes, and any health milestones you log (such as appointments, medications, or procedures).
Where your data lives
Health data read from Apple Health stays on your device. It is never uploaded to iCloud or anywhere else. Your check-ins, milestones, and daily weather values sync through your private iCloud database so they follow you across your own devices; Apple stores this under your Apple ID and TenSecond Labs has no access to it. Insights are computed on your device from your local data.
Weather and location
Once a day, with your permission, Bearing reads your approximate location and sends a coarse version of it (rounded to roughly an 11 km / 7 mi area) to the Open-Meteo weather service to fetch local weather. No account, identifier, or health information accompanies that request, and Bearing does not store your coordinates. Open-Meteo is an open-source weather API; its terms are at open-meteo.com/en/terms.
What we collect
Nothing. Bearing contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party code. We do not collect, receive, sell, or share any of your data. The App Store privacy label for Bearing is "Data Not Collected."
Exports you create
The report export feature generates a PDF on your device. It goes only where you choose to send it via the iOS share sheet, and the temporary file is deleted afterwards.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays until you delete it. Removing a check-in or milestone in the app deletes it, including from your private iCloud sync. Deleting the app removes all on-device data; iCloud-synced check-ins can be removed in Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Account Storage.
Not medical advice
Bearing is a wellness companion, not a medical device. Nothing in the app is medical advice. Always talk to a clinician about your health.
Changes and contact
